linkable.id Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

Last Updated: November 12, 2025

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs the use of the linkable.id Service and is incorporated by reference into our Terms of Service. This AUP applies to all Customer Content and all uses of the Service, including Landing Pages, Brand Assets, Short URLs, and Dynamic QR Codes. Violating this AUP is a material breach of the Terms of Service.

This AUP is based on industry best practices for services that host user-generated content and links, which face significant risks of abuse.

1. Prohibited Content

Customers and their Authorized Users may not upload, host, link to, or distribute any content that:

  • Is Illegal: Violates any local, national, or international law or regulation.
  • Is Hateful or Discriminatory: Attacks individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
  • Exploits Children: Includes any content related to child sexual abuse material or child exploitation.
  • Is Malicious: Contains malware, viruses, spyware, trojans, or any code designed to disrupt, damage, or gain unauthorized access to computer systems.
  • Infringes Intellectual Property: Violates a third party's copyright, trademark, or patent.
  • Is Deceptive (Misinformation): Includes content known to be false and intended to mislead, such as medical or civic misinformation.
  • Promotes Violence: Threatens, encourages, or promotes violence, self-harm, or graphic imagery.
  • Is Sexually Explicit: Includes pornographic material, unless legally permitted in your jurisdiction and not in violation of other terms.
  • Violates Privacy: Shares someone's private information without their consent (doxxing).

2. Prohibited Actions

Customers and their Authorized Users may not use the Service to:

  • Engage in Phishing or Fraud: Create links or Landing Pages designed to deceive users, steal credentials (passwords, credit card numbers), or commit fraud.
  • Distribute Spam: Send unsolicited bulk commercial messages (email or SMS) that link to content on the Service.
  • Impersonate Others: Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or organization.
  • "Cloaking" or "Bait-and-Switch": You may not use the dynamic redirection feature of the URL Shortener to engage in deceptive practices. This includes displaying one form of content (e.g., a benign page) and then dynamically changing the destination to unrelated, malicious, or deceptive content. This is a severe violation.
  • Circumvent Security: Attempt to bypass or test the security, authentication, or Service Limits of the platform.
  • System Abuse: Place an unreasonable load on our infrastructure (e.g., DoS attacks).

3. Enforcement

linkable.id reserves the right to investigate any suspected violation of this AUP. We may, in our sole discretion, take action to address violations, including:

  • Removing or disabling access to the offending content.
  • Suspending the user account responsible.
  • Terminating the Customer's entire account, with or without prior notice, for egregious violations.

We reserve the right to report any illegal activities to law enforcement authorities.
